Happy Today! It is a beautifully bright, sunshiny morning here in Oregon. This has been a great week for Hasten Home, as well.
Have you ever heard that spending time contemplating the beauties of nature will tend to draw you closer to nature’s God? It is so true. VBS is still in the forefront of my mind, and this week I have been working out the color headers for the children’s worksheets. With thoughts of the land so beautiful the Bible simply declares “eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him“, and an eye out for the abundant beauties in my own path here, I have been seeking to capture a glimpse of heaven in print. It was not until I was quite a way into the project of designing the worksheet headers that I began to realize how the intensity of concentration on those pictures of beauty is bringing with it that peace that only comes from above. The headers are just about done–I hope by day’s end that the last will be complete–and I am eager for the day next month when I get to share some of it with you!
On a similar note, the theme verse for VBS–The Land of Milk & Honey has been chosen: “…I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God…” –Leviticus 20:24. Are you looking forward to the fulfillment of that promise? Thank you to all of our Facebook “fans” who voted in our theme verse poll–the decision was unanimous! (By the way, if you have not been there yet, be sure to visit our page on Facebook, then click “like” to stay informed of upcoming polls and more!)
Also, remember that between now and June 15, down comforter bedding sets are on sale at Hasten Home. These are great as gifts that will last! Check out this week’s Tuesday’s Treasures for more info.
Edit: Please note: As of September 23, 2011, as part of our move to concentrate more on Vacation Bible School, comforter bedding sets will no longer be available from Hasten Home.
Until Next Time,
