  1. Hello Sister , as for growing old I’m 60 and proud of it , myself I have no problem with age , I figure I worked all my life and I ‘ve earned the right to be a senior citizen , so as for me I think I’m growing old with class . Hope you get many responds like mine , let me know your finding .
Always nice to chat with you Sister

  2. The kids are so funny because they always say, how old are you Miss Ramona, and I always state my true age, 62 yrs. old,…….they are so funny because their mouths open wide and they always say…you are not, you don’t even look it, you look so young. I Praise God that age has never been an issue to me, we are going to grow older every minute, why make it a stress zone, then you will age even faster, as stress really does age you quickly……The Lord says every day I give you new beginnings, and He is so faithful to do that, so instead of stressing, we need to give THANKS in ALL things….and I so do, even the trials.

What I use to look like is a Blessing, but what I look like today at this moment matters for the MOMENT, because tomorrow I may look different, so we need to just be again thankful in that which God allows for us, no matter what we look like on the outside which I agree, pleases us for the most, BUT, what is on the inside matters so much more, these bodies are not going to Heaven with us, our souls will…we need to make sure our inside, our hearts, our love of ALL is most important so that our souls belong to the Lord where satan has NO part..!!! I am truly Blessed, I mess up just like everyone else, but I have a God that is bigger than any problem on this Beautiful earth, because God made All things perfect, it is we the people that mess it up….so lets pay more attention to the inside parts of our bodies apposed to the outside as it is our health and the love of obedience to the commandments that can give us long life and do the work the Lord has asked us to do, simplified, it is found in (Gal.5:22,23) that verse alone will help us with much in our lives, our walk with Jesus..

I had the pleasure of a most beautiful grandmother and grandfather and an incredible mom, and Blessed with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I had a great upbringing though we were poor. I would take poor over rich any day of my life, because it taught me to love all kinds of people and to not be judgmental…..I truly am Blessed. I promise you, I don’t think I am anything more than the Lord has planned for me, I am gracious and thankful and prayerfully humble in all things, but it feels so good when people say, I want what you have and I just say…..I promise you, it is the Lord in me and I wouldn’t trade it for anything on this earth, I am a child of the King, Jesus Christ…..I give thanks for it.!

I believe that if we are acting the way the Lord gives us examples in the Bible, then we are doing that good and just thing and we should Trust the Lord to guide our ways, but …. we MUST seek Him Daily in All our ways… our children look up to us or not at all as they are ashamed of us, then it is on either us or their unwillingness to follow the good ways, but if they were taught from the Holy Word, then we have provided a good foundation for them to hopefully come back to……I Praise God for all that He does in my life, including how we age…..<3

I pray that all have a Blessed and Spirit filled day and a wonderful New Year being led by the Holy Spirit….Happy to be alive and in service to the Lord for the people of this earth…

    • Beautiful, Ramona. Thank you.

I like your point that stressing over our age will only make us age faster. 😉

And your response when people mention wanting what you have — praise the Lord!

  3. Amen! Our children do need to see it. Really, we do too! People, especially women, embracing the beauty that comes with aging. I love silver hair and the character your face develops as you age. It all tells a beautiful story. My mom never dyed her hair and it turned gray when she was still pretty young. It looks beautiful and she always carries a smile. That’s what I see… her smile and kind eyes, and a woman I so dearly love. Whether it is aging, weight or any other issue we think are flaws, our kids don’t see that… nor should they. We teach them that and that teaches them to think it about themselves. I read an article once about a woman that never wanted to be in pictures with her kids because she hated how she looked, but her kids were about your kids age and looked back at some photos and kept asking, “Mom, where were you? Why weren’t you in any of these?” The ones that she was in, they said things about her smile, or the memory or that she was beautiful. They didn’t see her through her eyes, but their own. She vowed after that not to be absent in pictures anymore because some day, that will be one of the only memories of us our children have left. Teach them to look at the heart and not what man looks at. They’ll be happier and you’ll be free to actually enjoy and participate in the things that matter. Besides, looking at what man does look at, I would still say you are beautiful…. inside and out. 🙂 “Don’t regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.”

    • Aww, that brought tears to my eyes, Kristi. The children are so non-judgmental. I could just feel the sense of loss in that question, “Mom, where were you?”

And what an important point you made that we need to see it, too. That is so, so true.

  4. Hi Sheila, Happy birthday to you! I also enjoy growing older. Just think of the myriad of life experiences we have had because of our age. And every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. Go gently now, Amy

  5. Hi Sheila! I did great at turning 30, never thought a thing about it. But when 40 came rolling around, I tried digging my heels into the ground to stop it from coming. Then a dear friend said, “What is there to worry about? Jesus works the same way at 40 as He did at 30!” Our times may change, our hair turn grey, and bodies ache a little more…but Jesus is our mainstay. Taking my eyes off myself, yet once again, I can enjoy the real beauty of life and live in His ageless existence.

    • That’s the thing, isn’t it, Victoria? “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever!” Not to mention, one day these old bodies of ours will be a thing of the past — forever. “Growing young”, I like to say. 😉 Thanks for coming by!
