Unexpected winters (from nature’s notebook)

Life does not always give us the expected event at the expected time.

Sometimes winter comes early and catches us off-guard.

We are still dressed for fall–almost prepared, but not.

Sometimes "winter" comes before we expect it.

In this odd scene, note the one tree that always stands ready, whatever the season:

the evergreen.

Its roots hold firm.

Its trunk stands tall.

Its boughs wave true.

May we be like the ever-ready evergreen, “rooted and built up in [Jesus], and stablished in the faith,…abounding therein with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6)

It's okay to be 1st! Or 549th, for that matter... I'm eager to hear from you!
