Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

Spring is an amazing time of year.  Where before, all evidences were of decay and death, new life appears in the strength and vigor of youth.

New Life Springs Forth in the Garden

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.  For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.  (Isaiah 61:11-62:1)

I suppose it could be said that earth is now in its winter.  All around, we see decay and death.  Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, “wars and rumors of wars”…None of us need reminding that things are falling apart—and fast.

God’s righteousness and praise is to be seen; but in such a dark time in earth’s history, how can it be?  Let us be the light of the world!  Let us not hold our peace, but share the love that God has shown to us!

Then the promise is sure:  the Lord Himself will cause His righteousness to be seen.  He will “water” our work with the rain of His Holy Spirit; and where before, all evidences were of decay and death, new life—His life—will appear in the strength and vigor of youth—a new creation!

Let us not only long for The Land of Milk and Honey; let us work to hasten the return of our Saviour who has promised to bring us there!
