Five-Minute Friday! Today’s topic is “Last.”
Five Minute Friday: Last
Have you ever thought about what it is like to be last? Last out the door, last in line, last to serve your food at dinner….
Children tend to not like being last. It used to be that I would feel a bit irritated when my little one would reach their eager arm out, and push aside my leg so they could be first.
First out the door, first in line, first to be served….
It’s not so bad being last, though. Patience. It’s one of the more useful virtues!
How about being last?
Last to live in the last day’s of this earth’s history, last to make a call to one of the last children to submit to the Holy Spirit’s last pleadings of mercy, last to be a light in a dark world that is soon to be a much different place…
Last to set aside our own desires so that another may be first. Ah, sweet peace.
Maybe last is not so bad after all….
The last shall be first. What do you say? Let’s put forth every effort as if it may be our last — for soon it will be.
Hasten Home, friend!
