  1. I am SO loving your chickens! I found your post via Michael Hyatt’s post on FB, and I’m so glad I did. Oh yeah, I guess I need to go back and read the verses. 🙂 I’m very much a crazy chicken lady so I’m happy to have found your blog. I also really did enjoy your verses on fear for children. SO important. Thanks for the reminder of things I should be talking about with my children.

    • lol, Very cool, Danica — glad to connect! I did a double-take on the chickens comment, lol. They are not actually mine; we just found them adorably and fittingly shareable. 😉 (I really appreciate all the people who do allow us to share their work.) I am glad you enjoyed the post. Blessings to you and your dear children! 🙂

  2. My go to verses have been the Psalms and Proverbs. They are full of encouragement and I know when my steps are ordered of the Lord I can also follow His command to fear not. It has been a beautiful journey of learning to lean on and trust my Lord.

    • Psalms and Proverbs are both certainly rich. And very good point about security following obedience. It is a beautiful journey, for sure. Blessings, Jeannie. 🙂

  3. I have been enjoying your posts Sheila and the way you bring out Bible verses are very good. Teaching children not to fear by demonstrating reliance on God’s word is excellent. There are so many lost children these days and your message will help many parents and children make the right Christian choices. Your wisdom for guiding the little ones shines bright in your godly character. Yes, you’re right that those verses are not just for kids, but for us adults as well. I don’t have children. However, one of my favorites about fear not is Psalms 23:4. Thanks for posting.

    • Even in the valley of the shadow of death… yes. That is an excellent one, too — a favorite of many, I know (including my own husband, actually 🙂 ). Thank you for sharing, brother!

  4. A wonderful message for children; especially those just beginning to hear about a God who can quell their fears. My go to verse is Proverbs 3:4-6. “Trust in God with ALL your heart. Don’t depend on your own understanding. Give him all your ways and He will direct you.”

    • Oh, yes — another great one, April! We don’t always have to understand… because He’s always got it covered. 🙂 I remember one preacher in particular who always likes to say, “You know what that ‘all’ means in this verse?… It means ‘all.'” Love it.

  5. Psalm 91:4 has always been this powerful visual for me, especially when I was younger! Our kids are bombarded with so many frightening things these days, that I think we as parents must introduce our kids to these powerful verses of reassurance in order to counteract the things that try to take hold of little minds unawares.
Thanks for this encouragement! Visiting from CBCE!
