Something for the Children #5: I’m Going on a Trip

Today is a nice day to think about Heaven!  Here is a fun game to play when you have a few people around to play with.  If you have ever played “I’m Going on a Trip”, you will catch on very fast.  Here’s how it works:

Jesus is coming soon, and there are some things we will be taking with us—but others must be left behind.

Think about this and choose one of each; then the first person starts off, saying (for example), “I am going on a trip to Heaven and I am going to take faith—but I am not going to take foxtails (the stickery weed).”

The next person remembers what has already been said and repeats it, adding something else at the appropriate place.  For example, “I am going on a trip to Heaven and I am going to take faith and my brother—but I am not going to take foxtails or greed.”  It just keeps adding.

The third person might say, “I am going on a trip to Heaven and I am going to take faith, my brother [or so-and-so’s brother], and love—but I am not going to take foxtails, greed, or my computer.”

You get the idea?  It is lots of fun—give it a try!
