One of the first outward evidences of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost was the gift of tongues.

Note: The following is a basic record of this week’s Acts #MKBibleChat on Twitter. The discussion was lively as might be expected when you get a bunch of Christians together and mention the gift of tongues! As we had two or three or four lines of thought going on at one time sometimes, I did my best to gather the mini-conversations together for easier understanding.

I don’t think we all agreed on every point, but one thing is clear: the gift of tongues from the Holy Spirit is a subject that needs to be carefully and prayerfully studied out! If you have not done so recently (or if you have any questions on the gift of tongues), I strongly encourage you to start by reading Acts chapter 2 and I Corinthians chapter 14.

@projectpeter There are 2 kinds of tongues miracles. This one really looks like people speaking a known language they didnt kno #mkBiblechatBrian W.

@HastenHome I would say if they think it for their benefit… they need to examine if they are truly "God’s people." ;o) #mkbiblechatKen Smith
